Erin go bragh!

Happy St. Patrick’s Day! In honor of St. Patrick’s Day, I found and have posted some interesting stats on the Irish and St. Patrick’s Day, courtesy of the U.S. Census Bureau. You can find the stats here.

According to the stats, did you know there are more than eight times more Irish people in the United States than in Ireland as of 2009 (36.9 million in the U.S. compared to the 4.8 million in Ireland). Another statistic I find interesting is the amount of beef and cabbage produced in the U.S. in 2009:  26.1 billion pounds of beef and 2.3 billion pounds of cabbage.

I visited the Google page this morning, and I find it odd that they don’t have a “Google doodle” for St. Patrick’s Day. For holidays, anniversaries and other special occasions, Google usually has some artistic rendition of the search engine logo.

By the way, the title of today’s blog is a Gaelic saying that means “Ireland forever.”

Have fun today!
